Maintenance & Relines

Dentures and mouths change over time, so fit, surfaces and function may need attention.

Ongoing denture maintenance includes reviewing the fit, surfaces and hygiene of your denture. Our team can assess changes and discuss relines, adjustments or other maintenance as appropriate.

Denture Relines

Even a well-made denture may begin to feel different over time. This is because the natural shape of your gums and jaw gradually changes, while the denture itself remains the same. A denture reline can help your existing denture adapt to these changes and provide a closer, more comfortable fit.

Signs that your denture may need relining can include looseness, movement while eating or speaking, sore spots, food becoming trapped underneath, or a general change in comfort. Addressing these changes early can also help reduce unnecessary pressure on your gums and minimise the risk of damage to your denture.

Relining involves adding new material to the fitting surface of your existing denture so it sits more securely against your gums. In many cases, the process can be completed quickly, allowing you to enjoy an improved fit without needing an entirely new denture.

If your dentures don't feel as secure or comfortable as they once did, book a consultation so we can assess the fit of your dentures and advise whether a reline, adjustment or another solution is best for you.
